Konstantin accompanied photographer Zara Pfeifer for her residency at C/O BARDI in 2024, where she researched and documented Calcio Storico — a 500 years old sport played in Florence.
During his stay, he made numerous field recordings — capturing training sessions, game days, walks through rural areas, and the voice of the city: ghosted dialogues, overcrowded streets.
These recordings became the foundation for a future composition that reflects on Calcio from an auditory perspective.
Back in Berlin, Konstantin unfolded the raw recordings, processing them into a cohesive sequence. With the help of musician Diego Castellaro, they produced an interpretation that builds tension, paired with moments of void and stillness.
The piece was first presented as a live performance at Fuse Concept Space in Zurich and screened as a music video at Something Fantastic Office Space in Berlin.
The video offers a new way one could experience the album. Unsynced with the music, it shows fragments of the Calcio Storico games, as well as behind-the-scenes footage that Zara Pfeifer captured with her iPhone.
